So, what do I want to accomplish this year? Well, I definitely want to be more productive. Just the notion of getting more organized excites me. I have a hundred ideas on how I can streamline my life to make more room for things that bring joy. All too often I get dragged down by daily goings on and end up never even getting to my drawing table that day. So yeah, getting even more organized is a must. Once I successfully wrangle those pesky day-to-day tasks I will be less stressed out, more inspired and content… and if that happens I will be able to spread more happiness to those around me. That should really be the goal for all of us, right? I mean sure… making art brings me joy, but it’s not the most important thing. We should be making the world a better place. Let’s face it, the world needs a lot of help. Maybe instead of focusing mostly on ourselves this year we could focus on others a bit?
It’s not that lofty a goal really. We could all use a little more goodness don’t you think? So, join me in changing things one small act at a time. Simply be nice to people! It will come back to you over and over again. Make someone feel good, pay it forward, inspire some smiling and laughter, bless someone… somehow. Believe me, you will be glad you did. Because not only will other people be lifted up, you will be too. Kindness is good for everyone involved. Here is a radical thought… put an alarm on your phone as a reminder to perform a random act of kindness every day. Make it a habit. It will make your day. It will make your life.
