When I was young and my drawing ability was first noticed by others, I remember several people telling me I should be an art teacher. At that young age I recall thinking that teaching art class didn't sound like much fun. Besides, I wanted to do it... not teach it! Over the years I have had the pleasure of showing my artwork to a lot of people. They usually give a compliment or two which is nice to hear. But their compliments are almost always followed by the statement "I wish I could draw". This happens almost 100% of the time, and I always think to myself that they could probably draw if they just had the passion to learn how and put in a bit of practice.
As I get older I am finding myself in a more authoritative position when it comes to creating artwork. I have had decades of practice and have honed my skill to a considerable level. Over the years my attitude toward teaching has changed a bit and I have, on occasion, taught people how to do the things I do. I always found it rewarding enough to briefly reconsider the idea of being a teacher. I know that I don't want to be a school teacher in the traditional sense, but I would like to share my knowledge here on my art blog. So, I pose this question to you. Would you like to learn to draw? If so, I would love to teach you! What would you like to learn specifically? I would really like to know. I invite you to leave a question or comment. Thanks for listening.
